The inaugural Beat Internet Threats Everywhere (B.I.T.E) day will be held on 28th May (Memorial Day in the US). It's been organized in a concerted effort to raise awareness and maybe help reduce the numbers of existing infections which not only affect the host machine but can also be passed on to family, friends and associates.

Daves Computer Tips needs your help: The success of this campaign relies hugely on mass participation and you can help enormously by simply passing on the word. Participation is simple and does not require any complicated procedures.

Counting Crows: Free digital music download

The mega successful band Counting Crows has partnered with BitTorrent to release a selection of tracks from their latest album for free. The Counting Crows package includes 4 MP3 tracks from the ‘Underwater Sunshine’ album, plus album art and liner notes.

It’s great to see a group of musicians releasing their material free and legal in this manner, and with the blessing of their recording label. Lead singer Adam Duritz is quoted as saying:
