My god, just heard that Whitney Houston has died in a Los Angeles Hotel - what an absolute tragedy and loss of a fantastic artist!.   I knew she was fighting her own demons, but it's always quite shocking when someone who's music we grew up with passes suddenly and so unexpectedly like this.

Like Michael Jackson, Whitney will be missed by a lot of people, RIP.

Marko, it's said that it's easy to get caught up in all the fantasy and hype and the glorious high speed lifestyle. But sometimes if an artist would just sit and listen to the people that they affect,,the fans ,,the future singers,,artist,,charities and the "real people who care and idolize them" ,,maybe,,,just maybe they can live to truly be "the legends they have become." If they can just pay enough attention to look around at all the "lives,,futures and love that they control and have in the palm of their hands,,the world ,,which needs good news these days,,,,would not be mourning the loss of another "bright light in this dark time in history."

It shocked me when i heard it yesterday on CNN.

That may be all true my friend but we can't know for sure what really happened in their lives to lead to this point; only what we read or see on tv, and lots of that is rumors. We did see how she battled with her demons but that is only a snapshot of her life.

I only know that i wouldn't want to live my life under a microscope like that. A totally different reality for sure. RIP Whitney.

I too was shocked when I heard this news. Seems there is an element goes hand in hand with artistic genius which inevitably leads to tragic consequences. Only got to look back through history, all the truly great ones seem to go prematurely, often at their own hands, either directly or indirectly.

A terrible, terrible waste!!

I know exactly what you mean Grem,,I was in a Heavy Metal band for 14 yrs. nowhere near that level,,not even in dreams. But my friend **** of the band  Pantera, will tell you, that the first and final decision is yours. Remember ",if you choose not to decide,,you still have made a choice" !!!! Jim,,,the list of casualties would take all night to print out. It's just always so sad.
