Claw - I would take that report with a grain of salt.
Yes, Mozilla has relied heavily on revenue derived from its partnership with Google, but:
Firstly, although the contract expired in November, negotiations between parties are still taking place - it's equally likely a new agreement will be signed as not.
Secondly, I seriously doubt either party will take a particularly hard-nosed stance during negotiations - Mozilla need the revenue and Google will not want Firefox's preferences going to Microsoft's related search engine Bing. It's in Google's best interests to continue fostering the relationship rather than delivering Mozilla (and Firefox) to the rival Microsoft camp.
Even if no agreement is reached between Mozilla and Google, I'm pretty sure Microsoft and Bing will welcome Firefox with open arms.
It's concerning yes but far from the end. I actually published an article on the subject HERE.

Thanks Jim,,I didn't think it was a roll over and play dead thing,,I just thouht it was very interesting the way some newsletter type publications, make everything sound like a" DO OR DIE" situation!! When really all it ends up being is "FREE" publicity for both camps. Thanks a lot for your article!!!!

It's called "sensationalism" Claw. It used to increase the sales of newspapers, now I guess it increases clicks.

Jim,,it keeps the product names in your head,so that when"a very expensive product"comes out on the market and includes any of those others,,it's instant recall. So,,they are familiar names and you fork out mega-bucks for an average product. That my friend, is really the main reason for TV, if you think about!!!!
