Hi All,

Does anyone know if an open source equivalent exists to Microsoft’s Office Communicator ?

Not looking for anything fancy, just the following criteria :-

1] Host the IM server in the office (not allowed to use Google talk or any off-site IM system)
2] Be able control the IM accounts myself
3] Just simple Chat required though if conference chat is available then that’s a bonus
4] Run on Windows server

Cheers
Nick

Hi,

Have you ever considered the following peer-2-peer communication software. They don't need a server, and communication is instant.

Perfect for LAN networks inside offices. There is no offsite connections either.

Have a look at these links if you are interested:

I hope this meets your requirements. :good:

Just trying to help.  :bye:
If you don't like it, don't use it or blame me for it!
