Over the past couple of months FreewareBB has warned readers about the 'scamware' Kingsoft Office 2012 and the dangers of downloading freeware, in general, from download.com - you can read both related topics HERE and HERE.

Now download.com has just added Kingsoft Office 2012 to its freeware listings including a glowing editorial review which rates the software 5 star. Makes one wonder what download.com might have received in return for that - one thing for certain, whatever it was definitely precluded them from checking out the software properly.

If you go the the listing for Kingsoft Office 2012 on download.com and have a look through the user comments, you will see that the majority of 5 star user reviews say pretty much the identical thing - and we are supposed to believe that these ratings come from separate and unbiased sources....bullsh*t!!

Further proof that CNET care naught for uncovering the realities, and even less for their users.

Their reviewers seem to wear many differant mask,,but underneath is the same face. Bullsh*t is a nice way of putting,,Jim!!!!

Well, as I've said all along guys, download.com and other download sites like them are financially motivated first and foremost - the more downloads they have, the better it is for them - even if those downloads are troublesome.   Problem is, many users either won't know of the issues surrounding those downloads or won't care and so these sites continue to reign.   I can quote a dozen sites that are way way far more popular than FreewareBB and seem to be doing absolutely fantastic in regards to popularity with the search engines yet there is something fundamentally wrong with them - because their users are unaware or the problems they continue to support those sites by downloading from them which further increases their popularity and pushes them even further through the rankings and search engines listings which means they gain even more popularity.

It's only when someone comes along and questions them do others begin to realise something is amiss but by that time it's too late, the damage (so to speak) is done and the unscrupulous developers have had the desired exposure they need to get them and their products noticed!!.
