A few weeks ago we found a number of virus alerts on MiniDVDSoft's products and negative ratings on WOT.   Although somewhat surprised at these findings, I removed our support for their products pending further investigation.   Here's a copy of the email I sent to them ....

Hello, normally we don't contact developers but we thought it best to double check with you in this case.

We had been listing some of your products on our site at www.freewarebb.com although a few reports of viruses and ratings in WOT led us to remove them - a member of staff has raised this with us and wanted to find out more.  In particular, we notice that a virus scan of the following products brought back some suspicious results in VirusTotal.com:

Free Flash FLV Video Converter - http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=c278affbd915d8ff44b...e0d9-1310531844
Free Audio CD to MP3 Converter - http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=54d0b365f20709b363a...1b84-1311026751
Free MP3 to CD Convert & Burn - http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=9275167ca50805e6a4c...4868-1311423159
Free DVD Burner - http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=a868c8913f6713a6553...cf6c-1311805969
Free Youtube Video Downloader - http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=14dc1e0d3ed5fdd033c...8740-1307262158

Can you possibly explain why this is the case, if so we would like to reinstate your listings back on our site.
Thanks in advance
Marko
Unfortunately, they have declined to respond to our email and I can only therefore assume they don't have an answer, if they did it would make a whole load more sense to tell us about any possible issue's they are facing with false positives from antivirus vendors, but alas they failed to grasp the opportunity and I can therefore only reiterate our stance on withdrawing our support for their products and would recommend anyone using MiniDVDSoft's software thoroughly checks their machine for any signs of viruses or malware.

Please remember that we have people from many different timezones on the site and if your post requires a reply it could take longer at some at some points because of this.

Tiz a shame indeed Marko, but you can do no more than offer them an opportunity to explain. If they fail to respond then you have no other choice than to act on the information to hand.
