I like editpad lite and notepad plus lite but they aren't as fast and light as TED pad has been for me.

In the years of yore we used to gawk at sterios. Great ads they used to have in the newspapers with a 1000 different setups, and you could buy them all in parts.

Now we have the PC. The rev started out the same way as it did with the old sterios, but the multi-media PC fizzled with the weak tech products of the mid 90s. Today the PC is starting to make sense as a platform for true multi-media, so I am blindly expecting to see a reemurgence of the concept with marketers.

So the topic/question: What is the most over the top far gone good thing you have ever seen/owned associated with a PC? Really get the wow factor out for this one. Something that really got you...program, game, rig, setup, PC part, anything...

For me, I totally got the wow factor of the PC itself. This goes back to my first one which was a 486 DX2 machine. I hadn't looked at a PC since the original Apple came out in the late seventies and a little later some IBM workstations in college, so I was blown away that it was possible to own such a rig. Alas it was all potential that had me, not really the rig. Still shocks me the games that could be run on those pathetic setups...and the office software, too. I had Access doing back filps.
