Everything is a small yet extremely fast tool for searching files and folders. Everything does not rely on building massive indexes so not only saves disk space but does not slow down the PC either. How does it achieve this; Everything still creates indexes but they are very small and leverage off the indexes incorporated into the NTFS file system, which means it is utilising something that is already in place rather than duplicating it....a pretty clever idea!

There is a minor trade-off however, in order for Everything to work on your PC, the hard drive needs to be NTFS formatted, and it will not search content.

Everything will scan multiple drives, find search terms embedded within file names and can be accessed from a desktop shortcut, the Start Menu or from the right click context menu. The installable version weighs in at a tiny 334KB download and it is also available in a portable version which is even smaller at 272KB.
