Process Lasso is NOT yet another task manager. It is a process priority optimization and system automation utility. Priority optimization, affinity optimization, core optimization, automated rules,
automated power schemes, you name it and Process Lasso has it.

Process Lasso's most popular feature is the unique process optimization technology called ProBalance (Process Balance)
that will improve your PC's responsiveness and stability through process priority optimization and/or CPU affinity adjustments. Windows, by design, allows programs to monopolize your
CPU without sufficient restraint -- leading to hangs, micro-lags, and delays in your keystroke or mouse actions. ProBalance intelligently adjusts the priorities and/or CPU affintiies of running programs, on-demand, as-needed so that
badly behaved processes won't negatively impact the responsiveness of your PC. ProBalance works by LOWERING the priority of select background processes in high loads, NOT raising priorities.

Don't just take our word on ProBalance, try the graphical demo at our web site - a simple 'CPU Eater' running at normal priority, something any programmer can easily recreate in any language. The difference with or
without ProBalance is amazing.

In addition to ProBalance, there are countless features allowing the user to take full automated control of the processes on their PC.
You can have a wide range operations performed, or settings applied, each time a process is run. Core optimization technologies allow you to choose on what CPUs/cores a process should run,
as well as what their CPU priority class and I/O priority class should be. You can also disallow certain processes from running, log all processes run, and even set various other process rules.
These rules, amongst many others, include automatically restarting or terminating a process after it reaches some CPU or memory threshold.

High tech IT type interface...light app. Adds stability and stays open in systray at 0% of CPU. Uses a only small amount of RAM, However, the desktop apps I have like Rainmeter, Dexpot, 3DTop, Rocket Dock, and ObjectDock do it too...and they give me a feature. Add it all up with those, and this system is cruising already. I will use this for a while to see how it does. So far so good.

Optimization is a little like the old days with RAM Boosters...sort of the next generation of booster optimization. Looks like a super charged version of the Task Manager's performance tab, but runtime optimization does seem to have improved in XP. I recommend trying this obviously well written and designed old school IT style optimization program, especially if you don't like desktop apps. It definitely looks like a serious program. Based on early results, this should improve any system...

EDIT: Passed the QuakeLive test. I noticed improvement...CPUs are zeroing quickly, core temps are a couple of degrees lower, and responsiveness seems good...
I put this on this morning, and immediately noticed an improvement in the way my browsers load. My whole system seems to be operating faster. Thanks FS.
Updated to version,
I've used Process Lasso for at least 10 months now and think it is a great find. I regularly use it for adjusting conflicting process priorities.

My only observation is the frequency of updates. I have it on automatic update notification and I reckon it offers an update about twice a week. I don't mind as updating is painless, but it seems a bit frequent for an app. that isn't an anti-virus or anti-malware.

Anybody else noticed?

Set on gaming mode, along with GBoost and sitting in the systray LOL...recommend trying the gaming mode...
