VideoPhile II was created for the purpose of managing and organizing your multimedia files. Its powerful feature-set makes it an ideal solution for cataloguing large collections of media content, even if that content is stored across multiple storage devices.

Through its easy-to-use interface, it is possible to quickly and easily locate any file in your collection and play it back.

Features
  • Support for user´s default Media Player
  • Auto-creation of Library, including thumbnail generation
  • Support for advanced Tagging, using hierarchies, links and synonyms (tag your tags!)
  • Ability to perform complex, compound searches in order to identify and locate files (combine anything with anything!)
  • Navigable Tag Cloud!
  • Ability to create and playback ‘highlight’ segments from your files
  • Facilitates basic editing of files (through external applications, where installed)
  • Caters for collections that span multiple storage devices, whether connected or not (HDDs/CDs/Data DVDs/RAM Disks/USB Drives/etc.)
  • Ability to create and organise dynamic playlists
  • Ability to generate Story Board images of files (commonly used as previews by file uploaders)
  • Facilitates identification of duplicate files
  • Supports real and virtual drives and UNC paths
  • TV-Out mode allows Library management from your armchair (via a remote control or similar input device)
Videophile II is a Direct Show-based application and, hence, it can play-back any media type for which your system has the necessary filters installed. My recommendation, if you are not already using it, is to have ffdshow installed, together with the Haali Media Splitter to handle MPEG-2 and Matroska streams. You may wish to supplement this a Flash (FLV) filter.

What's New in Version v1.6.5 (See full changelog)

  • Fixed permissions requirements for Windows 7 users. Videophile II should no longer require Administration privileges in order to run. As a consequence, existing Libraries should be moved to the newly-created folder under ´MyDocuments´. In addition, Program Option settings will require to be set-up again. A full un-install of your previous version is advised.
  • There is a new option in the ´Add Files´ dialogue that will allow Libraries to be updated with the new location for any files that have been moved by the user.
  • The Player in the File Inspector can now detach (pop-out) via either a double-click on it or the new Control Box icon
  • A new Program Option allows Videophile II to be minimised to the System Tray via the minimise icon on the Control Box.
  • Fixed bug in Tooltips where File Name was not updated and ´Pefer Aliases´ Program Option was switched off.

Scanned & Checked: Feb 13 2012 07:20 AM

When we last updated Videophile II, we made sure it was still virus and malware free and the developer's site had no proven issues in any of the reputable site advisory services. In the unlikely event you notice any issues, please let us know immediately, otherwise we will schedule this software for another scan the next time it is updated.
