That's why its free . They can't sell the software so now they have to give it away for "free" in order to keep their market share. 
So after a year it completely shuts down, and blackmail you to buy the product key or all your documents stay locked.
I think Marko should have another look at these guys. Just my humble opinion.

Good collection of applications & as previously mentioned compatible with the Microsoft Office product. They appear to have done their utmost to emulate the Microsoft product, successfully too!
However, after one years use an invite to insert purchased product key & document view only (as all edit functions are disabled) will appear as you activate either Writer, spreadsheet or presentation links.
Make of that what you will.
