Listen N Write is a lightweight tool that will help you to listen and transcribe recorded lectures and interviews, fast and easy.

The program allows you to listen to any media file, audio and video, with a difference from the common player: it is equipped with convenient buttons that let you move back and forth a few seconds and a built-in text editor, also every time you press "pause" to transcribe the text we have heard the program sends the playback of one second back and facilitate the playback of the last words that are often difficult to understand (often truncated or not "stored" at the top), preventing the user side this manually, allowing you to perform transcripts quickly and, especially, without "going crazy" who in turn must move the progress slider back and forth to listen to the words or phrases not included.

Marko - There is also a portable version of this software available, which I could not find in the listings.
Added portable version to the download page Jim :)
Very handy for transcribing lyrics from sound or video, the F5 button is pause/start but this isn't clear from the menu. I couldn't open mp3s - only WAVs - with it, and it just crashed out if I tried. Same for FLVs, which kind of makes it hard to work with YouTube downloads and CD rips. Would be a useful tool for me if the actual functionality were better and it didn't crash with an error message like that. Also suffers a little from clipart UI graphics disease.
